About Anguilla
Anguilla is the northernmost Leeward island in the Lesser Antilles and is located 10 miles north of Saint Martin/Saint Maarten and 200 miles east of Puerto Rico. A British Overseas Territory since 1980, this 35 square mile coral and limestone island is home to around 15,000 permanent residents. Anguilla is a long, flat, scrub-covered island blessed with more than 30 white sand beaches, spectacular coral reefs and crystal clear, turquoise waters. Travel + Leisure has voted Anguilla the number 1 island in the Caribbean four years in a row. Known for its unpretentious, laid-back sophistication, warm & friendly people and vibrant dining scene, Anguilla remains an unspoiled haven and has a loyal following of regular visitors who return year after year.

Climate
Day time highs average 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27 degrees Centigrade) and the northeastern trade winds keep the air temperature comfortable. July-October is the hottest period and December-March the coolest, when a light sweater may be needed in the evenings. With only 35 inches of rain a year on average, there is no pronounced rainy season and showers are usually brief. The ocean is a pleasant, swimmable temperature year round with occasional Atlantic swells bringing waves to our shores during the winter months.
